Junam Reservoir is a new habitat for migratory birds. The original habitat was Eulsukdo Island in Busan. After they built the estuary dyke, the island was destructed. With the dam-building, the birds lost their nest to rest and food to live on. The leed field at the downstream of Nakdonggang River disappeared. The number of shells, crabs, and shrimps decreased. Thus the migratory birds had to move to find a new nest, which is Junam Reservoir far from Eulsukdo Island. Now it became the paradise of the birds nesting tens of thousands of birds including big swans(Natural Monument No. 201), white-napped cranes(No. 203), black-faced spoonbills with a yellow bill(No.205), and Gachang ducks.
Visitors are amused at the scene of 2,000 wild geese flying to the sky. The big swans, well known for 'Lake Swan", are found taking a rest on the leed field. Besides a variety of birds flock to the field and bushes of Junam Reservoir to find food and water.
